Term 3 is shaping up to be full of exciting experiences and rich learning opportunities here at Airville State School! As we welcome our students back on Monday 14 July, we’re looking forward to a vibrant and active term that reflects everything we value in the Airville Way—be confident, be respectful, be responsible, be positive, be proud and always be your best.
We kick things off with a community favourite—NAIDOC Day at Brandon State School on 18 July, where our students will join other small schools in celebrating cultural diversity, creativity and teamwork.
Next, it's time to get our running shoes ready for Athletics Day at Clare State School on 25 July. This is a great opportunity for students to show their sporting spirit, cheer on their peers and demonstrate confidence and pride in their efforts.
On 28 July, our students will travel to Kalamia State School for Music Viva, an engaging music performance that brings rhythm, movement and culture to life. It's always a lively, educational event that sparks creativity and joy.
Our newest learners in prep will have their vision screening on 30 July, an important part of our student wellbeing focus. We're committed to ensuring every child is healthy, supported and set up for success.
Then, it's off to the theatre! On 8 August, students will head to the Burdekin Theatre from 2–3pm to watch
The Gruffalo. This beloved story promises laughter, learning and a great afternoon out, reinforcing our love for storytelling and imagination.
For our year 4–6 students, Interschool Cricket will be held on 22 August and again on 18 September—a chance to demonstrate teamwork, responsibility and sportsmanship in a fun and active environment.
One of the biggest highlights of the term is our school camp for years 2–6 at the BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort in Cannonvale. Students will build independence, confidence and lifelong memories through outdoor learning and shared experiences.
And finally, after a full and rewarding term, we’ll celebrate the last day of term 3 on 19 September. We look forward to reflecting on all the growth, achievement and fun our students have experienced.
While we’re excited for these special days, we remain just as dedicated to the learning that happens in between. Every day in the classroom counts and our focus on high-quality, personalised education ensures that students are not only having fun—they're getting the best education possible so they can truly be their best.
At Airville State School, every moment—whether it’s on the sports field, at the theatre or in the classroom—is an opportunity to live out the Airville Way. We can’t wait to share another inspiring and memorable term with our students and families.
